Scott B. Whitenack is a sole practitioner and has worked in association and as co-counsel with Melvin M. Belli Sr. on several cases. He was admitted to practice law in 1982 at the age of 24. He began practice of law as an associate in the Law Firm of Chaves & Sampson. In 1983, and became a partner in the Law Firm of Sampson and Whitenack. A great majority of his practice during the last 27 years has consisted of personal injury, real estate, estate planning, family law, and business litigation, in both the State and Federal Courts. He has handled over 10 jury trials and hundreds of non-jury cases involving personal injury, real estate fraud, business litigation, which resulted in millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients. In a leading published opinion on Broker Fraud, he worked in association with Melvin M. Belli Sr. and Kevin McLean in Cory vs. Villa Properties et al. After a four-week jury trial, and a rendering of a verdict for intentional fraud against the defendants, which resulted in the Cory's receiving $1,250,000.00. This case is also cited in numerous legal publications and official reports as a leading authority on the measure of damages under CC Sec. 3343: Cory vs. Villa Properties (1986) 180 Cal. App.3d 592; 225 Cal.Rptr. 628. Witkin Summary of California Law 9th Ed., Torts, Vol. 6, Sec. 1447 at page 924-925; California Real Estate Miller and Starr, Remedies, Sec. 30:45, Measure of Damages. Other published opinions are: Arbitration Award of $500,000.00 In Pruitt vs. St. Stephens Baptist Church, determined before The American Arbitration Association in Sept. 2003, and Affirmed by the New York Supreme Court. Sept. 2005, Truck vs. Auto Confidential $185,000.00. December 01, 2001 of $100,000.00 in Dheenshaw vs. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. involving an Automobile accident. In another published opinion, he obtained a jury verdict of $177,998.00 in Sapp v Ali Samadani on May 20, 1999 involving an Automobile accident. Scott's Great-Great Grandfather, Nathan B. Stubblefield is the True Inventor of the Radio or "Wireless Telephone", and his good friend and mentor helped in the effort to correct History when he directed the following warning: "A warning to all publishers of historical data, to be advised that Nathan B. Stubblefield must be recognized as the inventor of Radio. Belli further notified the National Association of Broadcasters on behalf of the Family of Nathan B. Stubblefield, to change the Marconi Award to the "Stubblefield Award," given annually by the N.A.B." |
